The primary responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office is protecting the safety of Dawson County residents.  Joel believes in professional, well-trained law enforcement and preparedness to respond effectively to emergencies, criminal activity, and natural disasters.

Joel believes deputies should be held to high professional standards and supported with clear leadership, proper training, and well-defined expectations.  Consistent accountability, transparency, and fairness are essential to maintaining public trust.

With experience across fire service, emergency medical response, and law enforcement, Joel understands the importance of readiness in all situations and the ability to respond effectively when conditions change.
